School motto introduction: Zhang Jian lashed out at the old custom in feudal society that "a woman's lack of talent is a virtue" and advocated giving women the opportunity to enter school. So in 1906, Tongzhou Women's Normal School, China's first full-course women's normal school, was founded, and the school motto "Learn from home economics, be diligent, thrifty and gentle" was specially inscribed for the women's normal school.
