Introduction to the Dumu Temple: Kasthamandap, located in the southwest corner of the square, is where the name Kathmandu comes from. It is said that the wood of the entire building comes from a single tree. The main entrance of the temple faces east, with a pair of stone lions in front of the door and a statue of Langerkanat worshiped inside. The copper inscriptions in the temple before the 13th century are precious historical materials. There is a small golden-domed temple in the northeast corner, which is the Ganesha Temple attached to this temple. It is responsible for the land around Hanuman Dhoka Palace.
