Introduction to Fengxi: Neat shops are lined up on both sides of the ancient street, usually three shops per household, separated by towering horse-head walls. The storefront has far-reaching eaves, and the beams are supported by exquisitely carved wooden diagonals. The gable side is formed by overlapping to cantilever the eaves to one meter away. The eaves on both sides of the street face each other, leaving a narrow sky above the heads of pedestrians.
