Higashiote gate introduction: Higashiote gate is the main gate of Nijo Castle, facing Horikawa-dori. It was built in 1662 in the early Edo period. The roof of the east main entrance is decorated with original tiles integrated into the main house structure. The wife is decorated with tree lattice and building animal head tiles. The form was to ferry an oar across the castle gate to between the stone wall and the stone wall, and the lower part became the gate form.
