Introduction to Hongshan Fort: Hongshan Fort is a city barrier in the Great Wall defense system of the Ming Dynasty. It was built in the 16th year of Hongzhi in the Ming Dynasty (1503) and has a history of more than 500 years.
The original purpose of "Hongshan Fort" was to strengthen the defense along the Great Wall and "prevent autumn". Later, it became a "Horse Market" and "Cattle and Sheep Market" for people of all ethnic groups inside and outside the Great Wall to come and go from Qingshuiying. An important channel for commodity trading and commercial exchanges.
