Introduction to South Island: Located about one kilometer southwest of Chichijima, it is one of the most beautiful attractions in Chichijima. This small uninhabited island has many animals and plants and is a breeding ground for green sea turtles and various seabirds. It features a picturesque cove with white sandy beaches and rocky cliffs. In order to protect the ecosystem of the South Island, only 100 people are allowed to go there every day, and they must be accompanied by local tour guides. It is completely closed from November to February. Many companies offer South Island tours together with swimming with dolphins and snorkeling for 4,000 yen for a half day and 8,000 yen for a full day.
