Introduction to Iwo Jima: A volcanic island located in the Ogasawara Islands in the Western Pacific. The administrative division is under the Ogasawara Village of Tokyo (Ogasawara Branch Office). It got its name because the island is covered with a layer of sulfur caused by volcanic eruptions.
