Column carving introduction: The Pillar of Life has 121 statues of men, women, old and young in different postures from top to bottom. It is the most beautiful sculpture in the park. It took Vigeland nearly twenty years to complete. Its meaning is to express the process of life. The baby and skeleton at the top of the tower represent the two extremes of life, and the evolution and transformation process of life from then on down.
