Introduction to the Cervantes statue: In 1986, Madrid, Spain and Beijing became sister cities. The Madrid Municipal Government copied the Cervantes statue that stood in the Plaza de España and gave it to Beijing. The Beijing Municipal Government placed it on the campus of Peking University. Inside, located on the south side of the school history museum. Cervantes (1547-1616) was a great Spanish writer during the Renaissance. His masterpiece "Don Quixote" is a household name.
