Business introduction: Pinghu business has always been prosperous. During the Song and Yuan Dynasties, there were four major market towns (Danghu, Zhapu, Guangchen and Xincang) in the territory. The traditional business forms in Pinghu's history mainly include vendors' shops, professional markets, and temple fairs. During the Republic of China, the grain and oil market in Danghu Town; the "Sanbai" (common name for cotton, rice, and salt) market in Xincang Town; the grass seed market in Xiupingqiao; the cotton market in Quangongting; and the piglet market in Xindai Town, All flourished for a while. Temple fairs and market gatherings are a custom in the history of Pinghu. They are generally initiated by the people. In addition to welcoming and worshiping Bodhisattva, they also set up a stage to invite opera troupes to sing and trade goods in the market. Vendors from several miles around or even long distances will gather. It will be really exciting at that time. The crowds are surging, people are rubbing shoulders one after another, and the hawkers are noisy. Famous temple fairs include the three-day lantern-hanging temple fair in Danghu Town, the God-welcoming Performing Arts Temple Fair held in Zhapu Hall, the Dawa Temple Fair in Yuqitang, the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva’s birthday temple fair on June 19th in Xindai, and the "Fen Long" in Xincang Festival" temple fair, etc.
