Introduction to the gate: Youyi Pass was built in the Han Dynasty. It was first named Yongming Pass, and later changed its name to Jiling Pass, Jieshou Pass, Danang Pass, and in the Ming Dynasty it was changed to Zhennang Pass. After the founding of New China, it was renamed Munanguan Pass in 1953 with the approval of Premier Zhou Enlai. In 1965, in order to express the profound friendship of "comrades and brothers" between the people of China and Vietnam, it was renamed Friendship Pass with the approval of the State Council.
