Introduction to Ribeira Square: Ribera Square (Praça da Ribeira) is located in the historical center of the city and is part of the World Heritage Project. Since the Middle Ages, it has been the center of busy commercial and manufacturing activities. In 1491, the buildings around the square were destroyed by fire and were later rebuilt and improved to what they are today.
