Church introduction: The appearance of the Church of San Francisco (Igreja de São Francisco) is very mediocre, far less than the spectacular and gorgeous impression people have of the church. This church was originally a monastery and chapel dedicated to Francis built in 1244. It was transformed into a Gothic building in 1425, but the simple appearance of the church has not changed.
