Introduction to the Stock Exchange Palace: The Porto Stock Exchange Palace (Palácio da Bolsa) was formerly the Convent (S.Francisco Convent), which was reduced to ruins after a fire in 1832. In 1841, Queen Mary II donated its ruins to the Chamber of Commerce, and in 1834 it was rebuilt into today's building.
