Introduction to the High Castle: The High Castle (Vyšehrad) is located on a hill beside the Vltava River. It was the birthplace of Prague when the city was founded in the seventh century and the place where the first Czech kingdom was established. The remaining castle was built in the 10th century. It contains the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and the High Castle Cemetery, where many famous figures in Czech history are buried.
