Introduction to the Small Town Square: The Small Town Square (Malostranské náměstí) is located at the foot of Prague Castle and is divided into upper and lower parts by the Baroque St. Nicholas Church. There are a series of historical palaces and protected buildings around the square. The tram line along the Vltava River passes through the lower part of the square and intersects with the Royal Line (královská cesta), the main tourist route through Old Prague; in the upper part of the square there are Kaiserstein Palace, the Department of Mathematics and Physics building of Charles University in Prague and many restaurants.
