Introduction to Einstein's home: Einstein lived here from 1936 to 1955. This house was built around 1870 to 1880. It is a very ordinary house with no architectural features. At the request of Einstein himself, the house is not to be used as a museum, and Einstein's family has also requested that the house not be used as a memorial. But the house is registered as a United States Historic Landmark and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1976.
