Bhutan Punakha City Travel Guide - Qimei Village

Introduction to Chimi Village: Chimi Village is named after the Chimi Temple halfway up the mountain. Qimei Temple is a temple built by Lama Zhukakula's cousin to commemorate his subjugation of demons. Lama Drukakkula is a saint widely respected by the Bhutanese people and is called a crazy sage. His Buddhist teachings are reflected in fine wine and beautiful women. Many of his followers are honored to have sex with him. Perhaps influenced by the crazy sages’ fertility worship, the most special sight of Qimei Village is the ubiquitous reproductive totems in every corner of the village. Whether it is the murals on the wall or the wood carvings scattered in every corner, they are all very vivid and specific representations of male genitalia.
