Introduction to Shen Congwen and Qingdao: In 1931, Yang Zhensheng, the first president of Qingdao University when it was founded, searched for outstanding teachers everywhere. Under the recommendation of Xu Zhimo, Mr. Shen Congwen came to Qingdao University as a lecturer in the Chinese Department , together with Wen Yiduo, Liang Shiqiu and others, became the founders of the school. In 1933, Yang Zhensheng resigned as president of National Qingdao University and went to Peking to organize the compilation of primary and secondary school textbooks and basic reading materials. At Yang Zhensheng's invitation, Shen Congwen resigned from his position as a teacher and went to Peking to participate in editing work before leaving Qingdao.
