Zhu De introduced in Qingdao: Around the Spring Festival in 1951, Marshal Zhu De suffered from relatively severe pneumonia. After recovery from treatment, his body was still weak. For this reason, the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee made a decision to let Marshal Zhu De leave his job and recuperate elsewhere for three months. In this way, Zhu De arrived in Qingdao in early August, stayed in a European-style villa at No. 1, Taipingjiao 1st Road, and began his first "recuperation leave" in his life.
