City Hall Introduction: The City Hall building is located in the northwest corner of Duck Lake. It is shaped like a dock, with a total area of 5,356 square meters and a unique style. The building was built by former Prime Minister David Odsonson when he was mayor of Rei (retired in June 2006). At that time, people had different opinions on whether to build such a modern building. Young and inexperienced architects were threatened with death and bombs, but the mayor defied all opinions and finally completed it on April 14, 1992. The construction period lasted a total of Four and a half years. This building has three doors, east, west and north, which fully reflects Iceland's openness and democracy. Anyone can freely enter and contact politicians, including people with disabilities in wheelchairs.
