Introduction to the Nylo Art Museum: The Nylo Art Museum (Nýlistasafnið) is an internationally renowned center for contemporary visual arts. Founded in 1978 by a group of artists in their 20s, it is the earliest non-profit art organization in Iceland. For more than 30 years, the museum has remained true to its original purpose: to provide a platform for artists to create and practice. The Nylo Art Museum holds 6-8 exhibitions every year, and also increases the diversity of exhibitions through performances, large screens, discussions, etc.
