Introduction to the Pearl Tower: The Pearl Tower is a landmark building in Reykjavik. It is located on Öskjuhlíð Hill and is 25.7 meters high. Originally designed by Ingimundur Sveinsson, a hemispherical glass dome was built on top of the original hot water storage tank in 1991. The entire renovation was completed while David Alderson was mayor of Reykjavik. The Winter Garden on the first floor of the Pearl Tower is a 10,000 cubic meter exhibition hall where concerts are often held. After enjoying delicious food and wine at Pearl Restaurant or Pearl Cafe, visitors can walk up to the observation deck to enjoy the stunning scenery of Reykjavik. There are 6 panoramic telescopes on the observation deck and introductions are provided in 5 languages. One of the hot water storage tanks was emptied and transformed into the Saga Museum. Visitors feel like they are wandering in the long river of Icelandic history and can experience the living conditions of Icelanders in the past and present.
