Introduction to Xiaotai: Halfway up the mountainside of Big Buddha Cliff is a historic site called "Xiaotai". It is said that Xuanxiao, the son of the Yellow Emperor, rested here while hunting, so it was called "Xiaotai". It is also said that Sun Deng, a famous scholar in the Wei and Jin Dynasties, came to the stage to roar, and his voice was melodious, like the sound of a phoenix. Therefore, the "Rongzhou Illustrated Book" of the Northern Song Dynasty called this "Sun Deng Xiao Tai". Lu You, a famous poet in the Southern Song Dynasty, often came here to visit Rongzhou when he learned about it. He left a poem: "There are no hermits screaming in the ruined platform, but there are still noble families in the ruins."
