Introduction to the Ohinemutu Geothermal Village: The Ohinemutu Geothermal Village is the settlement of the Ngati Whakaue, the indigenous people of the area. They chose this place because of its abundant geothermal resources, which they can use for cooking, bathing and heating. St. Fas Church is a special attraction in the Ohaimutu area. It was built in 1910. The interior of the church is decorated with colorful weavings.
