Introduction to the virgin forest: The Ruoliao Primeval Forest Scenic Area is dotted with thousands of acres of primeval broad-leaved mixed forest in a typical subtropical mountainous acidic yellow-brown soil area. It is one of the best primeval forest communities in East China. The most typical ones are the Hericium azalea forest, Zhejiang red camellia forest, bright-leaf water green hill forest, zinnia blueberry forest and Huangshan pine forest.
This forest is neatly forested, with tall trees, with a diameter of more than 50 centimeters at breast height, and thousands of trees, all of which are hundreds or even thousands of years old. According to forestry experts from inside and outside the province, there are more than a thousand species of ancient primitive trees growing in the scenic area, more than 700 species of wild and valuable Chinese herbal medicines, and more than 100 species of wild animals, including more than 80 species of endangered wild animals and plants that are under national key protection. There are nationally protected plants such as Albus alba, Southern rhododendron, Southern ironweed, Huangshan magnolia, Ledong pseudounisexual magnolia, concave-leaf Magnolia officinalis, Bole tree, long-sequence Ulmus, fragrant fruit tree, Coptidis vaccalyx, Oriental water leek, etc. Among them, the Oriental water leek was discovered for the first time in the world; and there are clouded leopard, black muntjac, golden cat, macaque, black bear, Sumatran antelope, tufted deer, pangolin, yellow-bellied pheasant, white pheasant, large and small civets, lovebirds and other national first and second level protected species. Animals thrive here.
