Introduction to Dahuofang Reservoir: Dahuofang Reservoir was built in 1954 and completed in 1958. The dam is 1834 meters long and 49 meters high. The total length of the reservoir is 25 kilometers, the widest point is 4 kilometers, and the narrowest point is 0.31 kilometers. The average water depth is 12 meters, the deepest is 36 meters, the total water surface area is 110 square kilometers, and the total water storage capacity is 2.18 billion cubic meters. It was the second largest reservoir in the country at that time. The reservoir is rich in aquatic products, such as fat head, carp, crucian carp, and Wuchang fish. With more than ten freshwater fish species, the reservoir has several functions such as flood control, irrigation, power generation, and aquaculture. It has now become an important source of drinking water for residents of Shenyang and Fushun.
It is said that when Xue Rengui, a famous general of the Tang Dynasty, led his troops to conquer the east, he buried pots to cook rice and set up camp here. Later, the village was named "Dahuofang Village". When the reservoir dam was built, the dam site was chosen in Huofang Village, so it was named Dahuofang Village. The reservoir is also called "Feilong Lake" because the water surface of the reservoir is long and narrow and the bays are intertwined. When viewed from a high altitude, it looks like a flying dragon.
