Introduction to Thousand Acres Sunflower Garden: Every year, the Sanmenxia Yellow River Dam is opened for waterproofing and water and sediment regulation are carried out. During this period, the water level of the main Yellow River in the northern part of the park dropped, exposing large tidal flats. According to tradition, surrounding villagers will rush to plant some short-growing legumes during this period. Since the park was built, some free sunflower seeds have been distributed to surrounding villagers every year. When these seeds grow, the park will have the landscape effect of a thousand-acre sunflower garden.
