Introduction to the Billiard Room: The Billiard Room is the place where you wait for the emperor to be interviewed. Emperor Franz Joseph will receive government and military officials here several times a week. Billiards had been popular at the court in the days of Franz Joseph's grandfather, where officers could enjoy some entertainment while waiting. There are huge oil paintings on the three walls of the hall. The middle one reproduces the first awarding of the Order of Maria Theresa in 1758. The oil paintings on the left and right respectively record the centenary commemorations of the establishment of the Order. Pomp and circumstance - Franz Joseph held a grand banquet in the Grand Festival Hall and held a grand reception ceremony in the palace garden.
