Introduction to the city wall: The ancient city of Nanyang in Qingzhou was built in the Northern Wei Dynasty. It was the seat of government offices in the Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Originally an earthen city, the brick city was built in the third year of Hongwu. The city wall is 12 meters high, 6 meters thick, 13 miles and 108 paces long. There are 1,777 battlements in total, and there are four city gates: Haiyan, Daizong, Fucai and Zhanchen. Various government offices, temples, academies and former residences of famous people are scattered throughout it, making it truly the "No. 1 city in Shandong".
