Introduction to bronze chimes: The bronze chimes were cast in the Gengwu period of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1870) and were cast by Shanghai Jiangnan Manufacturing Bureau. It is not only a musical instrument but also a symbol of status and power. It was unearthed in 1982 in front of the platform of Dacheng Hall of the Confucian Temple. It is said that the patriots buried it deep underground to prevent Japanese aggressors during the Anti-Japanese War and preserved it.
