Introduction to Dachengmen: Dachengmen is also called Jimen. The three characters "Dachengmen" are written by Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty. The word "Dacheng" comes from the book "Mencius: Wan Zhang 2": "Confucius is called the Dacheng", which means that Confucius has concentrated all the excellent qualities of ancient sages and all the excellent culture of ancient society. The animal head on the bronze door knocker of Dachengmen is called Pushou. According to legend, a dragon gives birth to nine sons in one birth, and Pushou is one of them. Because of its quiet nature, it is installed on the door. The Dacheng Gate is only opened during the Confucius Memorial Ceremony. Normally, people enter and exit through the two axillary doors.
