Introduction to Gongcai Cafe: The ruins of Gongcai Cafe are located at No. 1919 Sichuan North Road. It is a three-story brick and wood structure building along the street facing east and west. It was built in the 1920s and 1930s. Opened and operated by a Japanese, it sells candies and snacks downstairs and drinks coffee on the second floor. Because it is relatively hidden, left-wingers and the Third Branch of the Communist Party of China in Zhabei often hold meetings and activities here. On February 16, 1930, the "Left-Left Alliance" preparatory meeting (also known as the Shanghai New Literature Movement Seminar) was held on the second floor of the Gongcai Cafe. At the meeting, it was decided to establish a revolutionary literary group, the "Left-Left Alliance". Since the Gong Coffee Shop was very close to Lu Xun's apartment, Lu Xun often met young literary people here. It was demolished in 1995 due to the widening of Sichuan North Road. It was announced as a district historical site in 2006.
