Introduction to the visitor center and information reference area: The visitor center and information reference area are located on the second floor, including the Jewish refugee database and multimedia video materials. The "Jews in Shanghai" database was initiated by the Israeli Consulate General in Shanghai. It was established with donations from Israeli companies in order to remember the history of Jewish diaspora in Shanghai and to commemorate the acceptance of Jewish refugees by Shanghai residents before and during World War II. The database details the name, gender, address, nationality, route to Shanghai, arrival/departure time, occupation, last country of settlement, photos and contact information of survivors of Shanghai Jewish refugees.
