Introduction to Danghu Academy: Danghu Academy is located on the east side of the Confucius Temple and is the only remaining academy building from the Qing Dynasty in Shanghai. It was originally named Yingkui Academy. In the 30th year of Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1765), Du Nian, the county magistrate, built a lecture hall in the academy. It was renamed Danghu Academy because he admired Lu Longqi, the former magistrate of Jiading.
