Introduction to the centenary anniversary milestone: Built in April 1996, it is located on the central platform of the Xuhui campus lawn. It is 12.5 meters tall. The surface of the monument is made of warm gray granite. The inscription written by General Secretary Jiang Zemin is engraved directly above it. The monument is triangular in shape, allegorizing teaching and education. People are based on morality, intelligence and body. The relief on the steps of the milestone symbolizes the vicissitudes of Jiao Tong University for a hundred years. Stainless steel rings of different sizes surround the monument to celebrate the centenary celebration.
