Introduction to golden cats: Golden cats are widely distributed in Southeast Asian countries such as Myanmar and Thailand. They are accustomed to inhabiting warm and oxygen-depleted stagnant waters such as mud ponds, ditches, and swamps. The golden cat is an omnivorous, nocturnal fish that relies on its tentacles to search for small fish, crustaceans and other animals in the gravel and soft sand at the bottom of the water. Golden cats have long dorsal and anal fins. There are spines in front of the pectoral fins. These spines move back and forth along with the limbs, allowing the golden cat to "crawl" awkwardly but effectively under the water, hence the name "walking catfish".
