Introduction to People's Avenue: People's Avenue is located between People's Square and People's Park. It can be called the "dividing line" between the square and the park. It is actually an integral part of the square. It was first opened in June 1950 as a coal dust road. It was renovated in 1954 and opened to traffic in January 1955. In 1973, it was further renovated and became one of the main east-west arteries in the center of Shanghai.
