Introduction to Sheshan Observatory: Sheshan Observatory is located in the southern part of the mountain top. It was built in the 24th year of Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty and has a history of a hundred years. After liberation, it was affiliated to the Purple Mountain Rooftop. In 1962, it was renamed the Shanghai Observatory Sheshan Work Station of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Sheshan Observatory is one of the earliest and largest observatories built in China.
