Introduction to Guanglu Theater: Guanglu Theater is located at No. 146 Huqiu Road, Shanghai. It was founded by the American businessman Sha Meng & Co. in the 15th year of the Republic of China (1926). It was specially used to show movies. In December 22nd of the Republic of China, British Amateur Drama Clubs A, D and C rented it to perform plays. In the 30th year of the Republic of China, it was occupied by the Japanese invaders and was changed into a cultural cinema that exclusively screened Japanese news films. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, it was rented by the US military as a club. In January 1951, the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture took over the theater and film business. From April to May 1951, in conjunction with the anti-counterrevolutionary movement, the East China People's Revolutionary University Art Troupe performed the play "Enemies Without Guns" in three acts and eight performances, with 60 performances in 33 days. It was renamed Shuguang Theater on February 10, 1954 and opened on April 7 of the same year. Drama, Peking Opera, Yue Opera, Henan Opera, folk arts, and acrobatics were performed here successively. In 1955, it was changed to screen scientific and educational films, and in 1964, it was placed under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Foreign Trade Bureau.
