Introduction to the Japan Pavilion: This is a "breathing pavilion". The "grooves" and "tentacles" symbolize the "mouth, ears, nostrils" and "fingers" of a living body. The large semicircular dome is lavender in color, like a huge silkworm cocoon, hence the name "Purple Silkworm Island". The Japanese Pavilion is one of the largest pavilions among the national pavilions at the Shanghai World Expo. It is also an unprecedented pavilion in the history of Japan's participation in the World Expo. The exhibition hall is about 24 meters high, with a silver-white exterior. It is wrapped with an ultra-light "membrane structure" containing solar power generation devices, forming a large semi-circular dome, like a "space fortress".
