Toshogu Shrine Introduction: The main enshrined gods of Toshogu Shrine are Tokugawa Ieyasu, Tokugawa Yoshimune, and Tokugawa Keiki. In 1651, Tokugawa Iemitsu, the third shogun of the Edo shogunate, carried out extensive reconstruction to form the current temple. It is also known as the "Golden Palace" due to the extensive use of gold foil and its magnificence.
