Introduction to Shaohu Thatched Cottage: Located on the northeast side of Shaohu Lake, Shaohu Thatched Cottage is a quiet and elegant academy. The academy was originally the private school of Ruan Xuehao, the governor of Hunan Province during the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty. It was a place where scholar-bureaucrats studied and studied literature. The current building was built in 1981. The thatched cottage was built by Ruan Xuehao after he resigned from office and returned to his hometown to serve his mother. The brick carvings are arranged horizontally above the gatehouse, with exquisite craftsmanship and exquisite clarity.
