Introduction to Prince Chun’s North Mansion: Prince Chun’s North Mansion is located on the northern edge of Houhai. The courtyard faces south and has a vast layout. It can be divided into two parts. The west is the Wangfu Garden (now the former residence of Soong Ching Ling), and the east is the Wangfu itself. It is one of the best-preserved palaces in the city and is a cultural relic protection unit in Beijing.
During the Kangxi period, this house was the residence of Nalan Mingzhu, a great scholar; after Guangxu succeeded to the throne, King Chun moved to this place from the original palace (now the Central Academy of Drama) in the east of Taiping Lake according to the law, and it was called Beifu to distinguish it; The last emperor Puyi was born here. After he became the successor emperor, the then King Chun Zaifeng was appointed as the regent of the country, so this place was also called the Regent's Palace.
