Introduction to Dongpo Tower: Dongpo Tower was originally a shrine to the traitor Wei Zhongxian in the late Ming Dynasty. Later generations changed its name to commemorate Su Shi, a writer in the Song Dynasty. This history gives people a new understanding of the difference between loyalty and traitors. Su Shi was from Meishan near Leshan. He studied in Leshan during the Song Dynasty. Out of admiration for Mr. Dongpo, later generations built a statue of the poet here. The ink-washing pool in front of the building is said to be the place where Su Shi washed inkstones.
