Roof introduction: A small hole is opened on the top of the dome of the hall, through which sunlight can shine directly onto the tombstones on the ground floor. Every year at noon on December 16, a beam of sunlight shines directly on the sarcophagus through the gap in the roof to commemorate a famous battle between white South Africans and black indigenous people that took place on the same day in history.
