Introduction to the Cathedral of Saint Louis: The Cathedral of Saint Louis (cathedral basilica) was built in the early 20th century and combines Romanesque and Byzantine architectural styles. In 1912, installation of mosaics began in the interior. Completed in 1988, using a total of 41.5 million mosaics, covering an area of 8,000 square meters and with over 7,000 colors, it is the largest mosaic in the world and was created by 20 different artists including Hill Designed by Derleth.
