Introduction to Chongyuan Temple: Chongyuan Temple was originally named Chongxuan Temple. It was built in the second year of Tianjian of Emperor Wu of Liang Dynasty (503 AD) and was contemporary with Hanshan Temple, Lingyan Temple and Baosheng Temple. In the Qing Dynasty, "Xuan" was changed to "Yuan" to avoid the taboo of Kangxi Emperor Xuan Ye, and the name of Chongyuan Temple has been used to this day. Later, Chongyuan Temple was completely destroyed during the Cultural Revolution.
