Introduction to Turtle Fu: In May 1939, the monument was blown down by a hurricane. More than ten sections of the stone were broken, and the head and tail of Turtle Fu were separated. In 1946, the local abbot Miaozhen of Lingyan Temple and his descendants asked for work to straighten it. Unfortunately, the stele was broken into pieces and had to be erected in two sections side by side. It was not restored to the turtle base.
