Introduction to Xietang Old Street: Xietang was originally located in the area of Jinwang Tomb Village. It first appeared in the article "Reconstruction of Kunshan Pond" in the ninth year of Chunyou (1249). During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the market formed by the waterway moved to the north of the Xietang River and formed a market town. In the early Qing Dynasty, due to the prosperity of commerce and the increase in population, Xietang Market Town was roughly divided into two parts with the Zhongtang River as the boundary, called South Xietang and North Xietang. North Xietang was destroyed by war during the Xianfeng period. Due to the construction of Jinji Lake Dam, South Xietang's economy gradually prospered, forming a famous street with many shops, which is now Xietang Old Street.
